SoBo Farmers Market, here we come!

At the recent grand opening of the South Boston Farmers’ Market, I had the pleasure of demonstrating some recipes using products from the vendors. We sampled stir fried vegetables, braised new potatoes, and beets with dressing.

In spite of its being REALLY hot that day (is it August yet?), we had a great time. I say “we” because my main helper was my daughter Sarah. She and I zigged and zagged our way through the recipes and prepared samples for those who came by all to the blue grass music from the band.

Local Extension Agent, Ashley Nauta, was also on hand to help hand out samples.

All-in-all, a fun time with locals and vendors and fresh veggies.
